It's hard to describe the feeling of power emanating from a bison that is walking calmly across the road directly in front of your car. It doesn't care that it's blocking traffic. It fearlessly expects you to wait because this is suddenly not your territory and YOU no longer own the road.
I have a fascination for the beautiful wild creatures that I am fortunate enough to encounter. It's intriguing how they sometimes seem to appear magically as they cross the boundary between their own glorious natural habitat and our exciting human-made world--suddenly emerging from tall grass or the thick of a forest. The more time I spend wildlife watching, and journeying into their environment, the more I've noticed so many animals that (at a comfortable and safe distance) seem to be very intent on people watching. Possibly, they are just as curious about us as we are about them.
While we don't always understand or live in perfect harmony with these wild creatures, we can learn to appreciate them more through the captured images of their experiences and the glimpses into their world that nature chooses to reveal to us now and then.
